I'm Deborah Currie, Atomicata sect’s supreme leader.
I honor Isotope.
I'm concerned.
For some time now, several of my Atoms have been disappearing.
Of course, they're easily replaceable.
Many people want to join our family, worship Isotope, and obey my every command.
But Atoms keep disappearing.
I don't like that.
This will attract the police and I risk losing everything.
I need to find out why several of my Atoms are disappearing like this.
Questioning my most loyal Atoms, I learn that all the missing were last seen late at night in the games room.
In front of the TV watching Amanda the Adventurer.
Amanda the Adventurer.
That name rings a bell.
It's a children's show, I think.
What does this show have to do with the disappearances?
Wanting to know for sure, I wait for midnight and go to the games room.
Everything seems normal.
Next to the television is a cardboard box.
In the box are tapes of Amanda the Adventurer.
Strange. I'm sure this box wasn't here before.
Where did these tapes come from?
I pick one up at random.
"Everything Rots," it's called.
I put the tape in the VHS player.
The TV turns itself on.
Amanda the Adventurer’s episode begins.
After the logo disappears, I see a little girl and a sheep in a park. They're having a picnic.
"Hi, I'm Amanda." Said the child.
"And I'm Wooly!" Says the sheep.
The episode quickly takes a sinister turn when Amanda starts talking about things that rot.
Things rot when they're dead.
Amanda herself sometimes feels rotten.
When she asks if I think everything's rotten, Wooly gets terrified and says I don't have to answer that.
I say "yes."
"That's what I was afraid of." Amanda says sadly.
The TV screen blurs and glitches.
The episode seems to be over, but I hear Wooly's voice.
"Burn... tapes... QUICK!" It says.
The TV turns itself off and the tape ejects from the VHS player.
Suddenly, I hear a thud.
Like someone banging loudly on the door.
The door opens and a giant monster enters the games room.
Its hairstyle reminds me of Amanda.
So that was it.
The reason my Atoms had disappeared.
I was next.
Oh Isotope, protect me!
The Entity was about to devour me with its great jaws when cries were heard.
Some Atoms were awake and they're coming to save me!
They enter the room and shout insults at the monster.
I take the opportunity to pick up the "Everything Rots" tape.
I throw it into the box with the others, take the box in my arms and join my cultists.
We leave the games room.
We hear the Entity screaming.
"Quick! We have to burn the tapes!" I say to my followers.
"No problem." An Atom says, igniting the tape box.
As they burn, the monster cries out in pain.
Once the tapes have been reduced to ashes, all is silent.
I return to the games room.
Instead of the Entity, there's a big pile of ashes.
It burned with the tapes!
I laugh.
Glory to Isotope!
Nothing can stop his cult!
Atomicata lives!
Now that the threat of Amanda the Adventurer has been eliminated, the Atomicata sect will continue to flourish.
For the Great Isotope!
